Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Waikato 2025

Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships support high-achieving secondary school students from specified Tauranga schools in pursuing tertiary education at the University of Waikato.

Eligibility for the Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships:

Applicants must:

• Be studying at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) towards University Entrance at Otumoetai College, Tauranga Boys’ College, or Tauranga Girls’ College in the year prior to tenure.
• Have achieved a minimum of NCEA Level 2 with Merit (or equivalent). Applicants on a one-year gap year may be considered, provided they have achieved Merit (or equivalent) at both NCEA Level 2 and Level 3.
• Be intending to enrol full-time (120 points) in the first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato (Tauranga or Hamilton campus) for the first time in the year of tenure.
• Hold domestic fee status (i.e., be a New Zealand Citizen, NZ Permanent Resident, NZ Resident Class Visa holder, or Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident domiciled in New Zealand).

Value of the Scholarship:

Successful applicants of the Otumoetai Trust Undergraduate Scholarships will receive up to NZD 9,000 over three years.
